About a year ago, I got a Maine Coon kitten named Gaia who quickly became part of our family! Not long after we got her, however, the vet noticed that she had a heart murmur and she was dianosed with a heart valve disorder. Although not life threatening, she had to go to the vet's office for multiple tests and procedures. Soon after that she started to have some immune system issues and ended up with a virus and conjunctivitis. After all the turmoil in her early life, she recovered well and started to thrive. Gaia, though by no means an easy going cat, is now happy, healthy and much more well-adjusted. She and our other cat, Isis, are best friends.
